Matthias A.J. Dachwald lives and works in Europe.
Cultural manager, lyricist, and curator of the city of Nuremberg’s “Künstlerhaus” artists’ residence. In addition to photography, his curatorial focus is on thematically linked works on National Socialism, ecology, Hannah Arendt and street photography, art and socioculture, among other subjects. He is a member of KOMM-Bildungsbereich, a founding member of both the International Nuremberg Film Festival of Human Rights and the public space art and research group ‘pARTizipatoren’ and “LeoPARTs”. Since 2009 he is an offical nomination member of german society of photography (Deutschen Gesellschaft für Photographie (DGPh)).
He is also a free writer, art-worker, curator of exhibitions and worker in art education programms and he works on theories of photographs.
